Task Lighting

This week's Six Picks focuses on Task Lighting. Task lighting is lighting that increases illuminance for specific tasks or activities. Often times you will find task lighting by a desk or workspace.

If you don’t have the space for a table lamp on your bedside nightstand a double arm bed light is a perfect option. The Ralph Lauren Barrett Mini Double Arm Bed Light from Visual Comfort comes in two different finishes and can reach 16.25 inches when fully extended.

If you’re in search of a simple, sleek desk light for a modern or contemporary room check out the Koleman Task Table Lamp from Lumens. The height and the light it sheds is adjustable, perfect for different times of the day. Because of light it sheds being adjustable it can easily be used in a variety of rooms because it can work with any natural and artificial lighting that’s already there.

I love to make a piece of art or photograph stand out even more by using a picture light. The Hemmingway LED Wall Mounted Picture Light from Perigold is a must for anybody wanting to accomplish this look. The fixtures light is angled downward to highlight the art or portrait.

This is for my Serena & Lily style fans! The Larkspur Task Table Lamp is a timeless table lamp wrapped in rattan and offered in 4 different shade options. While I like all 4 shade options, I have to say I really like the scalloped edging on the white wave and raffia wave shades.

I love to accessorize a reading armchair with a floor lamp. The Possini Euro Sway Arc Floor Lamp from Lamps Plus has a classic gold arced silhouette and a black marble base with a pleated linen shade. The mix of gold, black marble, and linen makes it versatile to go in a variety of styles of room.

And one for the kiddos and the parents! What makes the Polished Tray Floor Lamp from Pottery Barn Kids extra special is that the lamp includes a tray to place a book, bottle, or anything you choose! Looks beautiful next to a rocking chair in a nursery.
