Counter Stools

This week's Six Picks focuses on counter stools. It was really difficult to narrow it down to just six but I made sure to include at least 1 stool that could fit in almost any style home. For those searching for stools for your home, remember to determine whether you need counter height or bar height before starting your search. Counter height is between 32 and 36 inches and require stools like these that have a seat height of 24 to 26 inches. I’ll focus on bar stools on a Six Picks in the near future!

For those on a tighter budget I am loving these Hani Solid Wood Counter Stools from Wayfair. I recently purchased them for a client and the quality is truly incredible. These stools are transitional so can fit into contemporary, modern, and farmhouse style homes.

You and your guests will love the Ana Grey Counter Stool from Crate & Barrel. The upholstered stool has a back the curves around your body so you can sit in a more relaxed position. These are also upholstered in performance fabrics, so you don’t need to worry about spills and stains!

I’ve spoken before about how I like pieces that are made of mixed materials because it adds character to a room and makes the piece more versatile. The Cadence Counter Stool from Arhaus is made of birch wood, oak wood, and rattan which makes it easy to fit into most home styles (besides ultra-modern)! Just like all the items that I focus on in Six Picks, these chairs are very durable and should last you a long time.

If you’re limited in space around your counter, you should consider purchasing a backless counter stool. The Angelina Backless Stool from Frontgate has a cushion seat for added comfort and an iron frame for sturdiness. Similar to the previously mentioned Ana Counter Stool, the cushion is upholstered in a performance fabric. It’s also available with a leather cushion of that suits your space more!

The Thea Upholstered Counter Stool from Pottery Barn is perfect for anybody who needs stools with maximum support. This counter stool is essentially an armchair in stool form so you get support on both sides of the stool and an upholstered seat padded with foam. The legs are finished in antique brass so it’s also perfect if you’re looking to add some warmth to a room.

If you’re having difficulty finding a stool that’s right for you, consider spending a bit more money for custom upholstery! Kravet makes incredible stools like this Harker Counter Stool that you can get upholstered in any of their fabrics. I visit their showroom at Boston Design Center often and they have thousands of options so you can be sure that you will find something that will look beautiful in your home.
